Julia Ludwig

Julia R. Ludwig, age 84 a resident of ManorCare Health Services of Chambersburg, Pa. and formerly of Molly Pitcher Hwy. Greencastle, Pa. died at 2:24 P.M. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 in the nursing home.

Born October 2, 1923 in Shippensburg, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Dewey Blaine and Ruth Pauline (Shriner) Rosenberry.

She retired from the Pennsylvania Dept. Of Labor And Industry in Harrisburg where she worked as a clerk typist. She also was a former owner of the Hillcrest Drive In Restaurant near Greencastle.
Julia was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and was a member of the former Trinity United Brethren Church Of State Line and the Beacons Sunday School Class.
She and her late husband had lived in Bonita Springs Florida and she was a former member of the Bonita Springs Lions Club.
Her husband William L. Ludwig died November 27, 1997.

Surviving family are, one daughter Cheryl (Talhelm) Freeman of Biglerville, Pa., one brother Gerald Rosenberry of Shippensburg, Pa., three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Rosenberry and Donald Rosenberry.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 27 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. with Chaplain Chuck Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery Chambersburg, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday.
