J. Robert "Bob" Mohler
June 19, 1952 — June 13, 2017
J. Robert “Bob” Mohler, age 64, of Buchanan Trail West Greencastle, PA died at 12:30 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been battling cancer for the past three years.
Born June 19, 1952 in Carlisle, PA he was the son of Dorothy (Hippensteel) Mohler of Newville, PA and the late Ralph E. Mohler.
Bob was a mechanical engineer having worked at Grove Mfg., Lukens Steel, Fort Ritchie, Fort Detrick, RRMC, retiring from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. He was a 1970 graduate of Big Spring High School in Newville. Bob was a 1974 graduate of Penn State University.
Bob was a life member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing with his sons. He was also a member of several trap and bowling leagues.
Surviving family in addition to his mother are his wife Cynthia B. (Bloom) Mohler, two sons, Matthew J. Mohler of Greencastle, Mark A. Mohler of Hawaii, sister Ann Daniels of Schuylkill Haven, PA, one niece, two great-nephews and one great-great niece.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother David Mohler.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 24 at 2:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Ron Sutphin officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home for family and friends one hour before the service on Saturday.
