Joy Rosalee (Tanner) Bill

Joy R. Bill, age 86 passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Quincy Village.  She was born on October 6, 1937, in Gip, WV.  She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Delphia Tanner. She graduated from South High in Hagerstown, MD.

Mrs. Bill was a homemaker most of her adult life and raised 4 children. She worked at Hagerstown hospital before she was married. She loved sewing and quilting and sometimes worked as a seamstress. She adored babies and small children and was often found helping in the church nursery, fussing over her “little angels”. She also enjoyed many years of RV camping, jigsaw puzzles, canning, gardening, and baking pies and cakes.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert D. Bill Sr., 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a brother, Melvin Tanner (wife Mary). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marvin Tanner (wife Donna) and June Lewis (husband Paul).

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Bill Shank will officiate. The family will receive friends at the above funeral home on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
