Joseph Donald “Don” Miller, age 79 of Greencastle, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Cadia Healthcare. Born March 1, 1942 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Truman "JT" and Mabel Belle (Stouffer) Miller. He married his late wife, Lois Marie (Caufman), on August 24, 1968.
J. Donald worked as a dairy farmer and was the owner of Millerville Farms. He served in 1-W service in Lancaster, PA. He was a member of the FFA and helped with cattle judging for the 4-H dairy club. Don was a 1960 graduate of James Buchanan High School. He was a member of the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church. He enjoyed traveling for farm and agricultural tours around the world, attending cattle auctions, sharing jokes, and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving family members are children, Nelson Miller of Greencastle, Carolyn (Miller) Bates and husband Steven of Winchester, IN, Ivan Miller and wife Mandy (Schnebly) of Greencastle; grandchildren, Mark Miller and Caleb Miller of Clear Spring, MD, Kyle Bates, Kelbee & Trent Kolp of Winchester, IN and great-grandchildren Haleigh Kolp, Hunter Kolp, and Belamee Fellers of Winchester, IN. Also included are siblings, Mary Louise Spangler and husband George of Greencastle, Darlene Ball and husband Alfred of Greencastle, and Richard Miller and wife Fern of Mercersburg, PA. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Carl Lee Miller and daughter Lorraine Kay Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 19th at the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Ave., Maugansville, MD 21767 with Pastor Chad Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, November 18th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA and at the church one hour before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church at the above address or to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL.
