John E. Wagner, age 82 of 9910 Thompson Dr. Greencastle, Pa. died unexpectedly at 10:37 P.M. Sunday October 14, 2007 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 16, 1924 in Williamsburg, Pa. he was the son of the late George Edgar and Ilo Mae (Ore) Wagner.
He worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service having retired in 1972 after 30 years employment. He also worked at Morgan Drive Away as a dispatcher and at Nellie Fox Bowl Chambersburg.
Mr. Wagner was a life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle and was a member of the Franklin County Bowling Association Hall Of Fame.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed bowling, coin collecting and being with his grandchildren. Mr. Wagner graduated from Scotland School.
He and his wife, M. Louise (Pine) Wagner were married on November 15, 1981.

Four sons, Ronald E. Pine, Marion, Pa., Randall A. "Pork" Pine, Hagerstown, Md., John E. Wagner Jr., Greencastle, Pa. and Jamie L. Wagner, Greencastle, Pa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning October 18 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Jeffrey A. Ehko officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Honor Guard Post #1599 will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. where the Greencastle V.F.W. will hold a memorial service at 7:30 P.M.
