John A. Peiffer, age 82 of Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly Tuesday morning September 15, 2015 in his home with his wife by his side following a lengthy illness.
Born November 16, 1932 in Quincy Township, Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late George and Bertha (Shockey) Peiffer. He married Patsy “Pat” (Bingaman) Peiffer on July 2, 1955.
John retired after 43 years employment at Beck Mfg. of Greencastle. He was a member of the Ebenezer “Guitners” United Brethren Church of Greencastle where he had served on the church board.
His interests included hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with all his family and dearly loved his wife, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 60 years are two daughters, Pam Dice and husband Norman of Chambersburg, Laurie Peiffer and husband David Romanoski of Hummelstown, PA, five grandchildren, Matthew Dice and wife Emily, Andrew Dice and wife Callihan, Kristina Dice and fiancé Trey Weaver, Cole Romanoski, Luke Romanoski, two great-grandchildren, Easton Dice, Ella Dice, one sister Grace Barnes, of Sebring, FL and one brother Frank Peiffer of Sebring, FL.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18 at 11:00 AM from the Ebenezer “Guitners” United Brethren Church 3661 Williamson Rd. Greencastle, PA with Pastor David Grove officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital 90 Hope Dr., A120, P.O. Box 852 Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Ebenezer United Brethren Church 3661 Williamson Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M.
