John W. Flora

John W. Flora, age 65 of 309 Irva Drive West Chambersburg died at 8:40 P.M. Tuesday December 1, 2009 in ManorCare Health Services Chambersburg where he was a resident since February 2003.

Born July 6, 1944 in Willow Hill, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Reed) Flora.

He was employed in custodial work for the Pennsylvania Turnpike and had previously worked at Howard Johnsons and South Mountain Restoration Center.

John was a member of the Chambersburg Church Of The Brethren. He enjoyed collecting antique cups and saucers.

He and his wife, Lydia M. (Christophel) Flora were married June 15, 1963 in Greencastle.

Surviving family in addition to wife are one daughter Tereasa K. (Mrs. Emilio) Huerta, Chambersburg. sisters Helen Hill, Spring Run, Pa., Wanda Bollinger, Nyesville, Pa., Margaret Susan Fike, Chambersburg, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Harrison.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 7 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastors Harold Yeager and Darlene Stouffer officiating. Burial will be in the Browns Mill Cemetery Kauffman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M.
