John E. Farrow Sr

John E. Farrow Sr., age 81 of 14318 Greenview Dr. Greencastle, Pa. died at 4:25 P.M. Sunday, November 14, 2010 in the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born March 7, 1929 in Montgomery Twp. Franklin County, PA., he was the son of the late Carl L. and Margaret M. (Bowers) Farrow.

In his earlier years he was a farmer. He then worked at the former Armco Steel Co., Paramount Feeds and last was self-employed with J & M Cleaning Services.

John was a member of the Broadfording Bible Brethren Church near Hagerstown where he served on the bus ministry and as a former deacon and trustee.

He and his wife, Martha L. (Winsor) Farrow were married October 7, 1950 in Clear Spring, Md. Surviving family in addition to his wife are two sons, J. Eugene (Husband of Diane) Farrow Jr., St. Thomas, Pa., Douglas B. (husband of Cindy) Farrow, Shermans Dale, Pa., three daughters, Sharon K. (wife of Nelson) Shank, Marion, Pa., Brenda L. (wife of Wayne) Durboraw, Clear Spring, Md., Julann L. (wife of Tim) Stoops, Greencastle, two sisters Betty Keckler and Nancy Noll, both of Waynesboro, Pa., 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Vernon Farrow.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 18 at 10:00 A.M. from the Broadfording Bible Brethren Church 13523 Broadfording Church Rd. Hagerstown, Md. with Revs. William H. Freed and R. William Wyand officiating. Burial will be in the Shanks Church of The Brethren Cemetery near Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given to Service to Servants Inc.
