Joan M. (Young) Weller

Joan M. (Young) Weller, age 74 of South Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA died Sunday morning May 31, 2015 in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Tammy Weller of Grant Shook Road Greencastle.
Born September 22, 1940 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul A and Helen M. (Hays) Young. She married Robert A. Weller on January 27, 1957.
Joan worked on the production line at Gibble’s Potato Chips near Chambersburg. She was a member of the Greencastle V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the National AARP. She was a 1958 graduate of Greencastle High School.
Joan loved driving her PT Cruiser car, playing bingo, playing cards and fishing in the ocean. She was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are three daughters Laura Keefer of Fannettsburg, PA, Grace Raifsnider and husband Donald of Greencastle, Pauline Ritchey and husband Roger of Chambersburg, two sons, Robert Weller Jr. and wife Vonda of Greencastle, Joe Weller and wife Tammy of Greencastle, three brothers, Earl Young and Robert Young both of Greencastle, James Young of Duncannon, PA, one sister, Peggy Baker of Greencastle, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Joe Young, two sisters Evelyn Wagner and Jane Marshall.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4 at 10:00 AM from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 25 Kauffman Road East Chambersburg with Rev. Ky Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Shanks Church Cemetery near Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17202.
