Joan Pensinger, age 76 of Greencastle, PA died at 9:50 P.M. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born September 30, 1934 in Greencastle, PA she was the daughter of Isabelle (John) Wilson of Chambersburg and the late Emmert Pensinger.
She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Greencastle and attended the Clay Hill Union Sunday School. She enjoyed watching TV especially Joel Osteen, John Hagee, Joyce Meyer and Lawrence Welk. Joan loved our country, the colors red, white and blue, and going out to eat.
Joan retired in 1997 after over 38 years of employment at Hicks Chevrolet Inc. in Greencastle where she worked as a secretary. She graduated in 1952 from the Greencastle High School.
Surviving family in addition to her mother are; step mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Pensinger of Chambersburg; sister, Mary Jane "Janey" Benchoff of Greencastle; nieces, Vicky Warner and Barb Piper both of Greencastle; nephews, Rick Benchoff and Michael Benchoff both of Greencastle; uncle, Carroll Pensinger of Waynesboro; five great nieces and nephews, two great-great nieces and special friend and caregiver, Mary Ellen Faubel of Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle with Brother Kenneth Ebersole officiating. Entombment will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from Noon to 1 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
