Jerry R. Maynard, age 69 of Maryland Line Rd. Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon April 16, 2016 at his home.
Born September 18, 1946 in Durham, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Lonnie Maynard and Lola (Williams) Maynard Nelson. He married Linda D. (Myers) Maynard on November 12, 1966.
Jerry was employed in the printing industry his entire life having worked last at TST Impreso Inc. of Chambersburg.
He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 and the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319, both of Greencastle.
Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and going to Myrtle Beach on vacations.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 49 years are two sons, Troy A. Maynard and his wife Laura of Waynesboro, Brian L. Maynard and his wife Angie of Greencastle, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one brother Lonnie R. Maynard of Kernersville, NC.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister.
/Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 20 at 1:30 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Michael T. Myers officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post # 1599 Honor Guard will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children 3551 North Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19140.
