Jerry Tim Friese, age 80, formerly of Chambersburg, PA and a resident of Elmcroft of Shippensburg, PA died Thursday morning March 1, 2018 in Elmcroft.

Born June 3, 1937 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Melvin H. and Ada M. (Coyle) Friese.

Jerry retired from the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, having served from 1954 – 1974 in Communications.

He was a member of the Roman Catholic faith. In his younger years Jerry enjoyed roller skating, dirt track racing, fishing and he loved dogs.

Surviving family are two sisters Delores Gladys Reid of Scottsdale, AZ, Joretta C. Robinson of Chambersburg, a brother David Friese of Greencastle, six children; Jacqueline Houck, Chambersburg, Jeannette Hansford, Greencastle, Jeffrey Friese, Chambersburg, Melvin Friese, New Hampshire, Anita Friese, Oregon and Angela Montoya, Eugene, OR. He also had 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A brother, Richard Melvin Friese preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 7 at 2:00 PM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Father Kyle Sahd officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter 5051 Letterkenny Rd West Chambersburg, PA 17201.
