Jennie L. Bateman

Jennie L. Bateman, age 88 of 230 North Allison St. Greencastle, Pa. and formerly a long time resident of 101 West Baltimore St. Greencastle died at 8:00 A.M. Thursday May 29, 2008 in her home.

Born April 11, 1920 in Harrisburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Susan (Lloyd) Esterly.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle. Mrs. Bateman was also a member of the Greencastle T.O.P.S. chapter and a member of the National A.A.R.P.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed doing ceramics, gardening and bird watching.
Her husband, Richard E. Bateman Sr. died on July 15, 2005.

Surviving family are:

Two daughters, Elaine L. Keller and Edna M. Hammond, both of Greencastle, Pa.

One son, Richard E. Bateman Jr., of Greencastle, Pa.

Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

Two great-great-grandchildren

Several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and a son.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 2 at 10:30 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. with Rev. Glen A. Miller officiating . Burial will be in the Burket Cemetery in Warriors Mark, Pa. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Hospice Of The Good Shepherd 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
