Jeffrey E. Shives, age 62 of Montgomery Church Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 2:25 PM Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital following a brief illness of two months.

Born June 30, 1953 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of Walter E. “Bill” Shives of Greencastle and the late Ruth W. (Wallech) Shives.
Jeff was a truck driver for Hoffman Transport of State Line for 30 years.  He was a 1971 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1972-75 in Southeast Asia and Adak Alaska.

Jeff was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle. He enjoyed going to the family cabin near Raystown Lake. Jeff enjoyed hunting, woodworking and was an avid fisherman. He looked forward to the annual fishing trip to Quebec Canada for the past 30 years and made numerous trips to Alaska fishing for halibut.

Surviving family in addition to his father are one sister Susan M. Angle and husband Dale of Greencastle, one twin brother Alan R. Shives of Greencastle, two brothers, Gary L. Shives and wife Connie of Greencastle, Terry L. Shives and wife Judy of Greencastle and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a nephew Dale Angle II in 1990.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 4 at 10:00 AM from the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Rev. John Scahill and Rev. David Rawley officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Mason-Dixon Boy Scout Camp Sinoquipe 18600 Crestwood Dr. Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle, PA 17225 or to the Grace Baptist Church 623 N Grant St, P.O Box 444 Waynesboro, PA 17268.
