Jean A. "Jeannie" Martin

Jean A. “Jeannie” Martin, age 73, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Born September 25, 1947, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late J. Allen and Ida J. Witmer Martin.

Ms. Martin graduated from a US military high school  while living  in France  and  was a graduate of Goshen College, Goshen, IN. She worked as a Secretary for number years, notably at the Embassy of Kuwait, National Geographic, and Aerospace. She enjoyed the outdoors to include, hiking, mountain climbing, camping horseback riding, and rafting. Notably she was on a rafting trip in Nepal and had climbed both Mt. Whitney and Mammoth Mountain. She also enjoyed traveling abroad and watching sports on television including baseball, football, tennis, ice hockey and followed the DC teams. Early in her life she lived in Nigeria with her parents and was a student of karate.

Surviving is her sister, Lynette Frederick of Germantown, MD and several cousins. Graveside Services will be private.
