Janice (Angle) Oliver

Janice Oliver, age 69, of Greencastle, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 10, 2023, at her home, with her family by her side. Born in Greencastle, PA on January 6, 1954, she is the daughter of Dorothy Rice Angle and the late Roy Angle, Sr.

Mrs. Oliver was a 1971 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School and a 1975 graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. She taught physical education at N. Hagerstown High for 4 years, before becoming a homemaker, mom, and bookkeeper at Greencastle Veterinary Hospital. She was a member of Tristate Fellowship Church in Hagerstown, MD. She served on the board of Camp Joy-El and also was a member of the Greencastle-Antrim Education Foundation. She enjoyed Bible Release program sponsored by Camp Joy-El, working in the children’s ministry at her church, and participating in 4-H as a club leader. Her hobbies also included sewing, embroidery, tending flowers, and gardening.  Mrs. Oliver cherished time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dr. Alan Oliver, whom she married in 1979; three children, Kara Baker (husband Wels) of Pittsburgh, PA, Rachel Stevenson (husband Micah) of Greencastle, PA, and Daniel Oliver (wife Shannon) of Chambersburg, PA; nine grandchildren; two siblings, Roy Angle, Jr. (wife Holly) and LaVonne Young (husband Joe); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 1 PM at Tristate Fellowship Church, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740, where Pastor James Gross will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 6 – 9 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA. Interment will be private.
