Janetta M. Brindle, age 81 of Chadwick Dr. Greencastle, PA died Saturday afternoon August 10, 2013 in her home.
Born November 2, 1931 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Leona (Russell) Jones. She and her husband Robert T. Brindle were married on May 10, 1950.
Janetta first worked at the former Stanley Co. and then Letterkenny Army Depot, both of Chambersburg. She also worked at the former First National Bank of Greencastle and volunteered at the Glasgow Air Force Hospital in Glasgow Montana.
The family moved to Battle Creek Michigan in 1972 and then she worked as a bank trust officer.
When her husband of 63 years retired from Federal Service, the family moved to Bayonet Point Florida where she also worked in banking until her retirement in 1992 from Bank of America.
She was a 1949 graduate of Chambersburg High School. Janetta attended the Macedonia United Brethren Church near Greencastle. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are two daughters Wanda Benton, Ocala, FL, Kimberly Torrance, Greencastle, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one sister Virginia McNulty of Greencastle.
She was preceded in death by one brother Lee L. Jones and one sister Hazel Barnhart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 17 at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no viewing but the family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Macedonia United Brethren Church11887 Worleytown Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225.
