Janet L. (Boppe) Myers

Janet L. (Boppe) Myers, age 72 of Greencastle, PA died early Friday morning December 23, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital from complications of a recent fall on ice at her home.

Born October 10, 1944 in Everett, PA, she was the daughter of the late David Earl and Betty Jane (Moyer) Boppe. She married her husband Harry S. “Chip” Myers on August 21, 1960 in Mercersburg.

Janet worked as a caregiver and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Bible Church of Greencastle and a former member of the old Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle. She was a life member of the Rescue Hose Co.  # 1 of Greencastle.

She attended James Buchanan High School and received her nursing assistant degree from the Franklin County Vo-Tech School in Chambersburg. Some of Janet’s hobbies and interests were yard sales, cooking, traveling and caring for others.

Surviving family in addition to her husband of 56 years are a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Brown  Dobrowolski of Williamsburg, VA, one granddaughter Cierra Brown of Williamsburg, VA, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Darryl L. Brown in 2003, two brothers David Eugene Boppe and Garth A. Boppe.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 29 at 10:00 AM at the Grace Bible Church 2327 Hoffman Rd. Greencastle with Pastors Herm Fisler and Richard Overcash officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Grace Bible Church Building Fund 2327 Hoffman Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225.
