Jane N. Koons, age 96 of Hagerstown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning July 22, 2013 at Fahrney-Keedy Home of Boonsboro, MD where she had been a resident for the past week.
Born August 23, 1916 in Washington County, Maryland near State Line, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Newman and Mary Catherine "Mollie" (Zimmerman) Koons.
In her earlier years she worked at the former Troy Laundry of Hagerstown and she was last employed as a health care worker at the Coffman Nursing Home of Hagerstown.
She was a member of the Grace Bible Church of Greencastle and was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class.
Surviving family are one sister Martha N. Martin of Hagerstown, two nieces Louise Zeger of Mercersburg and Pauline Meyers of State Line, PA, two nephews Dennis W. Martin and Greg A. Martin, both of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Calvin Koons and three sisters Edna Koons, Cora Koons and Mary Koons,
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 26 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. J. Herman Fisler officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Grace Bible Church 2327 Hoffman Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com
