James Reed

James “Jim” Reed, age 78 of Carol Ave. Greencastle, PA died Tuesday morning January 12, 2016 in his home.
Jim Reed is now sitting up and taking nourishment in heaven like a gentleman and a scholar, whose good looks are only exceeded by his splendid personality.

Born January 13, 1937 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Anne (O’Neill) Reed. He married his wife Karin (Zock) Reed on December 1, 1962 in Allentown, PA.
Jim was a retired salesman having worked for Monroe Calculator and last for Eastern Software Co.
Jim was a 42 year member of the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Allentown. He was a passionate member of the Republican Party and enjoyed dancing, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was a US Army Veteran.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are three daughters, Colleen Miller, Regina Frasier and husband Scott,  Maureen Sungenis, two sons, James R. Reed, Christopher Reed and wife Michelle, grandchildren, Nick Rauch, Alex Rauch, Cameron Reed, Ryan Reed, one great-grandson, Benson Rauch, three sisters, Lois Daday, Mary Reed and Carol Doyle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 9:00 AM at the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 395 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle with Rev. Joseph E. Carolin officiating. Private interment will be held in Coopersburg, PA. There will be a viewing on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society 924-N Colonial Avenue York, PA 17403 or to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17202.
