Jacob Daniel Short, 15, of Greencastle, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2012, at his residence.
Born July 26, 1997, in Evansville, Ind., he was a son of Richard and Christina Williams Short.
Jacob was a 10th grade student at Greencastle-Antrim High School.
Besides his parents, he is survived by siblings, Chelsie and Richard Short II, both of Hagerstown; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Sherry Ashby of Hagerstown; maternal grandparents Larry and Vicki Blair of Hatfield, Ind.; three nephews, Draegen and Braeden Whittington, and Carter Short; as well as numerous aunt, uncles and cousins.
The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be visiting at the funeral home. A celebration of Jacob''s life will be on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Maugansville Ruritan Club, 18007 Maugans Ave., Maugansville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Columbia Bank in the name of Ronald Thomas Ashby, grandfather, of 18223 Summerlin Drive, Hagerstown. Contributions sent to assist the family to any of the Columbia banking branches must include Mr. Ashby''s name as well as address.
