J. Paul Doyle, age 91 of Town Dr. Greencastle, PA died at 11:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in the Quincy Retirement Home where he had been a resident since September 3, 2012.
Born September 2, 1921 in Doylesburg, Fannett Twp. PA, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Jennie (Shearer) Doyle. He married Mabel S. (Sweigert) Doyle on April 1, 1945 in Lemasters.
Paul was a lifelong dairy farmer having last farmed on the Warm Spring Rd. near Upton, PA. He was a member of the St. Stephens United Church of Christ of Upton. Paul was a former member of the Lemasters Ruritan Club and the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. He enjoyed hunting in his earlier years.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are two daughters Linda K. (wife of Dwain) Mowen, Waynesboro, PA, Sue (wife of Vaughn L.) Grove, Greencastle, PA, two granddaughters, Danielle L. (husband Derrick M.) Hulock, Mountville, PA, Amber L. Grove, Greencastle, PA., two great-grandsons, Camden M. and Jaxsen I. Hulock.
He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth Doyle, Frederick Doyle and a sister Irene Hultzapple.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 1 at 1:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastors Wayne Warren and Pete Posey officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Rescue Hose Co. # 1 Ambulance Squad 842 South Washington St. Greencastle, PA 17225.
