Ivan Leiter

W. Ivan Leiter, age 92 a resident of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, Pa. and formerly a long time resident of 301 South Carlisle St. Greencastle died at 6:45 P.M. Tuesday July 21, 2009 in the nursing home.

Born October 13, 1916 in Greencastle, Pa., he was the son of the late William W. and Ottie B. (Kuhn) Leiter.
He had worked in his father''s business the former Leiter''s Hardware and Implement in Greencastle.

Mr. Leiter was a member of the Chambersburg Gospel Chapel and had attended the Greencastle Senior Center.

For many years he was active in Child Evangelism Fellowship of Franklin County in Waynesboro where he had served as treasurer and a board member. He also was affiliated with the Bread Of Life radio program in Hagerstown.

Ivan was a 1934 graduate of Greencastle High School and had attended Juniata College and the Philadelphia School Of The Bible. He was the last of his immediate family

Surviving family are several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister Ruth Leiter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 24 at 2:30 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with William A. Sheaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Friday.
