Isabelle N. (Lininger) Stahl, age 88, a resident of The Village Of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, Pa. and formerly of 12591Gearhart Rd., Greencastle died at 7:50 P.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in the nursing home. She had been in declining health the past several months.
Born September 27, 1920 in Fort Loudon, PA., she was the daughter of the late William and Clara (Gift) Lininger. Mrs. Stahl was a homemaker and helped her husband operating the family farm.
She was a member of the Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church near Waynesboro where she served on the sewing circle. She enjoyed baking and helping with the activities of the Shady Grove Ruritan Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She and her husband, Glenn H. Stahl, a resident of The Village Of Laurel Run, were married April 18, 1942 in Hagerstown.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are one son, James H. Stahl, Chambersburg, two daughters Clara Ruth Hess, Chiefland, Florida and Betty Eshelman, Greencastle, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Lininger and three sisters Catherine Kessinger, Hazel Ensminger and Harriet Bivens.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 23 at 10:30 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Revs. James Sollenberger and David E. Stahl officiating. Burial will be in the Stenger Hill Cemetery in Ft. Loudon, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M.
