Ida M. Schelle

Ida M. Schelle, age 87 of 14052 Village Mill Dr. Maugansville, Md. died Friday evening March 20, 2009 in the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.

Born July 21, 1921 in Washington County Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Abram M. and Amanda (Showalter) Baer.
She worked at Martin''s Food Market of Hagerstown and at the former Rocky Ridge Farm Market of State Line and the B & L Store of Maugansville.

Ida was a member of the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church near Greencastle where she was an active member of the Women''s Missions Sewing Circle.
She volunteered at the Cumberland Valley Relief Center near Chambersburg.
She enjoyed quilting and embroidery.

She and her husband Alfred O. Schelle were married December 2, 1943 in Hagerstown. He died on June 23, 2005.

Surviving family are one sister Bertha E. Martin, Maugansville, Md., foster son, Frank (Husband of Peggy) Welty III, Sandy Hook Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Henry Baer, Irvin Baer, Melvin Baer, Alvey Baer, Abram Baer, Leonard Baer, infant sisters Anna and Martha and a foster son William "Billy" Schelle .

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 25 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church 13343 Williamsport Pike Greencastle with Pastors Stephen Fretz and Darrell Baer officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday.
