Ida G. (Shank) Frey
Ida G. (Shank) Frey, age 91 of Columbus, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her residence, The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus. Born July 7, 1921 in Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Ida (Grove) Shank.
Ida was the wife of the late J. Melvin Frey who passed away in June 1984 and also the wife of the late Irvin M. Frey who passed away in March 2008.
She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. One of her fondest memories was of being a member of the Menno Haven Ladies Auxiliary while she was living in Chambersburg. Ida was of the Mennonite faith.
Surviving family are her children Don E. Frey, husband of Sandra and Donna M. wife of Dr. Wael Jarjour, Columbus, Ohio, four grandchildren Sherry Frey Lapp and Michael S. Frey, Lancaster, Nicholas N. and Alexander B. Jarjour, Columbus, Ohio.
Ida was preceded in death by brothers Clinton, Floyd and Glenn Shank and sisters Evarella Eshelman and Violet Burkholder.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday April 21 at 3:00 P.M. at the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church 13343 Wiliamsport Pike Greencastle with Pastor H. Wesley Boyer officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ida''s name to Odyssey Hospice 540 Office Center Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230.
