Herman A. "Sam" McIntyre Jr. age 67 of 6220 Montgomery Church Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died at 3:13 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2009 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born March 12, 1942 in Westminster, Md., he was the son of Mary E. (Forsythe) McIntyre, a resident of Holly Place of Hagerstown and the late Herman A. McIntyre Sr.

He was employed for 22 years at Precision Manufacturing and Engineering Co. of Greencastle and also had worked at Rouzerville Fabricating and Welding.
Mr. McIntyre was a member of the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church near Mercersburg where he helped to drive the church bus.
He enjoyed auto mechanic work, country music, watching western movies and was an avid John Wayne fan.

He and his wife, Dotty P. (Pine) McIntyre were married July 21, 1969 in Hagerstown.

Surviving family in addition to his mother and wife are one son, David A. McIntyre, St. Thomas, Pa., one daughter Susan R. Tercek, Chambersburg, three brothers, Bernard McIntyre, Ron McIntyre and Terry McIntyre, all of Greencastle, two sisters, Christine Beniwal, Hagerstown, Delma Revels, North Carolina and four grandchildren, David Joshua McIntyre, Tia Marie McIntyre, Kevin Matthew McIntyre and Benjamin Eric Tercek.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son John C. McIntyre on August 24, 2004.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 21 at 2:00 P.M. from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church 6727 Montgomery Church Rd. Mercersburg, Pa. with Rev. Dennis Ritchey officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 7 - 9 P.M. and one hour before the service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to help defray funeral expenses to the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
