Henry H. Pittman, age 90 a resident of Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg, PA. and formerly of Providence Place of Chambersburg, PA. and 13775 Molly Pitcher Hwy., Greencastle, PA., died at 10:25 A.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg, PA.
Born May 18, 1918 in Mercersburg, PA., he was the son of the late George H. and Cora E. (Hawbaker) Pittman.
He and his wife, Isabel (Crunkleton) Pittman were married August 7, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD. She died on January 9, 2001.
He was a Truck Driver for the former Bock Oil of Greencastle, PA. and along with his wife was the owner of Pittman''s Western Wear of Greencastle, PA.
Mr. Pittman was a member of the Grace United Church Of Christ of Greencastle, PA. and a charter member of the Silver Star Saddle Club of Greencastle, PA. He enjoyed working with leather, western movies and was a great story teller.
Surviving family are One Son, George H. Pittman of Greencastle, PA.; Three Grandsons; One Granddaughter; Three Great-Grandsons; One Great-Granddaughter; Three Step Great-Granddaughters; Three Step Great-Great-Grandsons and Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by a Daughter, Betty Lou Poe and Two Sisters, Mildred (Pittman) Schockey and Genevieve J. (Pittman) Beeler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA. with Chaplain Ronald Milley officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. The family request that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Grace United Church Of Christ, 128 E.
