Mrs. Helen Leona Keller Wingert, 83, of Greencastle, died Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2012, at Chambersburg Hospital. She was the wife of the late George Samuel Wingert, Jr., who preceded her in death on August 13, 1984.
Born January 15, 1929, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Ernest E. "Pete" and Martha Leona Myers Keller. She graduated Greencastle High School in 1946.
Mrs. Wingert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and life member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319, both of Greencastle.
Surviving are her children, Diane M. Wesley of Greencastle, Larry Wingert of Marion, and Linda Seville and husband Thomas of Mercersburg; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; as well as daughter-in-law Glenda "Punch" Wingert Cooper of Greencastle
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald L. Wingert on December 2, 1999; and her older brother who died during infancy.
The Harold M Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, are handling the arrangments. There will not be calling at the funeral home. Services and interment are private and at the convenience of the family.
The omission of flowers is requested. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Wingert''s memory to her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, 1186 Jason Drive, Greencastle, PA 17225.
