Helen V. Stahl, age 88 a resident of The Shook Home of Chambersburg and formerly of 213 Apple Blossom Way Chambersburg died at 1:59 PM Tuesday April 17, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born February 19, 1924 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Brinton S. and Olive May (Koons) Tosten. She and her husband Robert L. Stahl were married in October 1946 in Hagerstown. He died on December 10, 1995.
Helen worked at the former United Telephone Co. of Greencastle, T.B. Woods and Stanley Co., both of Chambersburg and last worked at the former Cross Roads Dairy near Greencastle.
She was a 1942 graduate of Greencastle High School. Helen was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church of Greencastle.
Surviving family are one son Terry M. (husband of Saundra) Stahl, Chambersburg, one daughter Brenda S. Orner, Chambersburg, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister Betty (Mrs. William) Johns, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Robert Stahl Jr. in 1964 and one brother Charles H. Tosten in 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 20 at 2:00 P.M. from the Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church 3661 Williamson Rd. Greencastle with Pastor David Grove officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Friday.
