Helen I. Shook

Helen I. Shook age 91, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Magnolia’s of Chambersburg. Born December 24, 1930, in Antrim Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Maude (Anderson) Haines.

Mrs. Shook was a homemaker most of her working years. She enjoyed shopping, square dancing, dining out, and going RVing. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle, the Red Hat Society, and the PA Farm Women.

Surviving are seven daughters, Wanda Koons of Greencastle, PA,  Patricia Bivens of Mercersburg, PA,  Sharon Rowe of Conway, SC, Susan Armstrong of Tarpon Springs, FL, Catherine Eaton of Tampa, FL, Sarah Ellen Freeman of Greencastle, PA, Joy Bingaman of Alachua, FL, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas “Tom” Shook, Sr. in 2016 and a son, John Thomas Shook, Jr. in 2009.

Services and interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
