Helen E. (Overcash) Osbaugh

Helen Elizabeth Osbaugh, age 95, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at The Inn at Luther Ridge. Born September 27, 1927, in Mercersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late George Calvin and Ida Grace Reeder Overcash.

Mrs. Osbaugh was a 1945 graduate of the former Lemaster’s High School. She was a homemaker most of her working years, maintaining her home and caring for her family. Helen was a member of Macedonia United Brethren Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading the newspaper, listening to music, canning, playing cards and games, but her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gave her the most joy.

Surviving family include three children, J. Edward Osbaugh Jr. and wife Nancy of Greencastle, PA, Jeanne D. Brown and husband Richard of Milton, PA, Lu Ann Riordan and husband Barry of Chambersburg, PA, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Osbaugh in 2015, a daughter, Vicki Lynn Osbaugh, and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Brian Black officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Macedonia United Brethren Church 11887 Worleytown Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225 or to SpiriTrust benevolent fund or SpiriTrust Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
