Helen F. Helman, age 66 of 7378 Green Corner Rd. Chambersburg, Pa. went to be with the Lord at 1:30 A.M. Saturday September 19, 2009 in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born June 6, 1943 in State Line, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Irvin B. and Mary A. (Bitner) Eberly.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm.
Helen was a member of the Fetterhoff Chapel United Methodist Church near Chambersburg, member of the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Cumberland Valley Antique Engine And Machinery Association.
She enjoyed being with her grandchildren, camping, doing needlepoint and gardening.
She and her husband, Ronald O. Helman were married February 5, 1961 in State Line.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are four daughters Sarah L. Harmon, Beverly L. Robinson, Carol A. Shank, all of Chambersburg and Linda M. Kyle, Mapleton Depot, Pa., two sons, Edward E. Helman and David L. Helman, both of Chambersburg, 15 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
Helen was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Catherine Griner and Dorothy L. Stewart and by a brother Paul I. Eberly.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 23 at 11:00 A.M. from the Fetterhoff Chapel United Methodist Church near Chambersburg with Rev. Matthew Plant officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Tuesday from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Fetterhoff Chapel United Methodist Church 4025 Fetterhoff Chapel Rd. Chambersburg, Pa. 17202.
