Helen C. (Carbaugh) Hager, age 81 of 8912 Kuhn Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died at 11:14 A.M. Wednesday December 31, 2008 in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in declining health the past several months.
Born June 11, 1927 in Montgomery Twp. Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Amos R. and Lucretia E. (Duncan) Carbaugh.
She helped her husband operating the family farm on Hager Rd. and in her earlier years she was a nurses aid at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Mrs. Hager was a member of the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church near Mercersburg. She taught Sunday School, Bible School and assisted in the nursery.
She loved her children and grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing.
She and her husband, O. Eugene Hager were married on June 5, 1953. He died on September 25, 2001.

Daughter, Jane M. (Wife of Richard E.) Rice, Greencastle
Sister, Anna May Pittman, resident of ManorCare, Chambersburg
Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 5 at 10:00 A.M. from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church 6727 Montgomery Church Rd. Mercersburg with Rev. Dennis Ritchey and Rev. Raymond Martin officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Monday.
