Helen E. (Beatty) Etter, age 85 of South Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA died at 10:25 P.M Sunday, October 7, 2012 in the Quincy Retirement Home, Quincy where she had been a resident since December 30, 2011.
Born September 8, 1927 in Mercersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Dwight and Mildred (Walker) Beatty. Helen and her husband Ray C. Etter were married April 26, 1946. He died on January 17, 2006.
She was a homemaker and had attended the Antrim Faith Baptist Church of Waynesboro. She attended school at the former Lemasters High School. Helen enjoyed watching Orioles baseball, working with flowers and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving family are one son Donald E. (wife Mary Jane ) Etter, Ephrata, PA, one daughter Gloria Ann (husband Thomas W.) Hendrickson, Stafford, VA, five grandsons, twelve great-grandchildren and two step granddaughters.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Isobel Mongan and a brother Marshall Beatty.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 12 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Herb Busick officiating. Burial will be in the Browns Mill Cemetery Kauffman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com
