Helen Viola Carr, age 88 of Marion, PA died at 5:19 PM, Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital following declining health the past several months.
She went to heaven to be with her Lord, and she was greeted with “Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant.”

Born October 18, 1927 in Williamson, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Scott and Helen (Higgins) Hager. Her husband S. Leroy Carr died in 1986.
Viola was a homemaker and had been employed at the former Acme/Supersaver Grocery Store in Chambersburg for 30 years.

She was a member of the Marion First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viola was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and enjoyed gardening.

Surviving family are one son Dennis L. Carr and wife Julie of Marion, two daughters Bonnie K. Shatzer and husband Richard of Greencastle, Kathie D. Straley of Fayetteville, PA, four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister Iva Black of Greencastle, three brothers, Donald Hager of Greencastle, Karl Hager of Marion and Harry Hager of Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son Roger Carr in 1950, four brothers Howard, Elwood, William and Roy Hager, two sisters Jean McLaughlin and   Judy Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday November 8  at 2:00 PM at the Marion First United Methodist Church 94 Colorado St. Marion PA with Pastor Chris Renner officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery Waynesboro, PA. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00- 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Marion First United Methodist Church P.O. Box 382 Marion, PA 17235, Marion Volunteer Fire Co.
