Hazel V. Dice, age 77 of 5392 Main St. - Box 45 Marion, Pa. died at 1:30 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2009 in the Western Maryland Hospital Center in Hagerstown, Md. where she has been a resident for the past eleven years.
Born July 30, 1931 in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Guy W. and Edith V. (Brewbaker) Crider. Hazel was employed at the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg and last worked at the former Baer Packing Co. of Greencastle.
She was a member of the Marion First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Loyal Messengers Sunday School Class. She had volunteered with Lutheran Social Services of Chambersburg and was a member of the National A.A.R.P.
She and her husband, Paul J. Dice were married January 31, 1953. Surviving family in addition to her husband are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: two sons John William Dice in 1961 and Thomas E. Dice in 1992, sisters Helen Berger, Dorothy Landis and Anna Mary Leeper and a brother William Crider.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 20 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Chris Renner officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M.
