Harvey "Gene" Overcash
Harvey "Gene" Overcash, age 65, of 3197 Newcomer Rd. Chambersburg, PA died Saturday, April 21st, 2007 at 4:40 P.M. in his home.
Born December 26, 1941 in Guilford Twp., Franklin Co., PA he was the son of the late Ivan R. and Cathryn (Deihl) Overcash.
Mr. Overcash was a manager in the auto body department of several area car dealerships including the former Gayman Chevrolet and former Hal Lowry Ford of Chambersburg, H&H Chevrolet of Shippensburg and Jennings Buick-Cadillac of Chambersburg. He also was a partner in the Overcash Brothers Body Shop.
He attended the New Franklin Assembly of God Church of Chambersburg. He was a member of the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post 1599 and the National Rife Association. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, flowers and spending time with his Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Overcash was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a 1960 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
Surviving Family Are:
Two sisters, Gail L. Berger of Waynesboro and Shirley I. Reisher of Chambersburg.
Two brothers, Melvin T. Overcash and James A. Overcash both of Chambersburg.
Companion for 15 years Charlotte L. McCleary of Chambersburg.
Several Nieces & Nephews
He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from the New Franklin Assembly of God Church, 2355 New Franklin Rd., Chambersburg with Rev. William E. Dick and Robert Overcash officiating. Burial will be in the Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. in the Harold M.
