Harold K. Swisher

Harold Kenneth Swisher, age 86, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 14, 1936, in State Line, PA, he was the son of the late George W. and Viola Katherine Cook Swisher.

Mr. Swisher work as a mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot for a number of years. He was also a part-time police officer for the Mercersburg Police Department for 30 years. He enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles and keeping busy tinkering around the house.

Surviving is his son, Doug Swisher (partner Lourdes Torres) of Chambersburg, PA, four grandchildren, Seth Miller, Shawn Miller, Justeen Swisher, and Rainee Talhelm, and a brother, Richard Swisher (wife Shirley). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Swisher and a daughter, Kimberly Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Gayle Ruble will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Beautiful View Cemetery.
