Harold E. Snoke, age 81 a resident of Providence Place of Chambersburg and formerly of Greencastle died at 5:15 A.M. Tuesday August 25, 2009 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born October 18, 1927 in Greene Twp. Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Norman R. and Lucy M. (Foust) Snoke.

He retired from Mack Truck and had also worked for the former M.P. Moller Pipe Organ Co., both of Hagerstown. He assisted his wife in operating the former Oaks Hardware Store on Center Square Greencastle.

Harold was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle, member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319, member of the Rescue Hose Co. #1, both of Greencastle and a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed being with family, hunting, gardening, fishing and golfing.

He and his wife, Anna R. (Myers) Snoke were married August 8, 1946 in Dillon S.C. She died on February 6, 2009.

Surviving family are two daughters Deborah A. Gearhart (Mrs. William) Leidig, Pamela A. (Mrs. Terry) Carr, both of Greencastle, one son Richard E. (Husband of Kristi Lynn) Snoke, Chattanooga TN., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by one sister Betty Lehman.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 28 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Stacy Crawford and Chaplain John Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Greencastle Sportsman Association P.O.
