Harold E. Myers, age 89 of Kuhn Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died at 3:15 A.M. Saturday March 1, 2008 in the Quincy Retirement Home Quincy, Pa. following a brief illness.

Born November 30, 1918 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Calvin C. and Carrie M. (Swailes) Myers.

Mr. Myers was a farmer in his earlier years and retired in 1983 from the former Kerr-McGee Chemical Company on Milnor Rd. Greencastle.
He was a member of the Hades Church Of The Brethren near Waynesboro. Mr. Myers was a life member of the Rescue Hose Co. #1 of Greencastle and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed watching baseball games.

He and his wife, Maud G. (Gayman) Myers were married January 26, 1945 in Greencastle. She died on October 5, 2005.

Surviving family are:

Three daughters, Ruby M. Trumpower of Clear Spring, Md., Judith A. Moore of Hagerstown, Md. and Jyl N. Hoover of Mercersburg, Pa.

One son, Neal G. Myers of Mercersburg, Pa.

One brother, Donald C. Myers of Greencastle, Pa.

Seven Grandchildren

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers John Myers, Daniel Myers and Linford Myers and two sisters Janet Daugherty and Hazel Brinkley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 5 at 10:30 A.M. from the Hades Church Of The Brethren on Hades Church Rd. Waynesboro with Ministers Dean E. Gearhart, George H. Martin and Donald L. Clapper officiating. Burial will be in the Shank''s Church Of The Brethren Cemetery near Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Hades Church Of The Brethren C/O Don Smith 11118 Katie Lane Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
