Harold L. Dentler, age 75 of Greencastle, PA and a resident of the Shook Home Chambersburg since March 2014, died at 4:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 26, 1939 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late Harvey L. and Anna C. (Rotz) Dentler.
Harold retired after 40 years of employment at the former Landis Machine Co. of Waynesboro.
He loved attending for the past 21 years the Good Shepherd Ministries of Hagerstown.
Harold enjoyed traveling and camping and was a member of the Good Sam Club, the Traveling American’s Club and the Pinwheelers Camping Club. His interests included listening to Southern Gospel music and playing his guitar.
Surviving family are his companion of 21 years Thelma Higgins of Greencastle, one sister Mary C. (husband the late Jim) Overcash of Chambersburg, two brothers, Samuel E. (wife Marguerite) Dentler of Fayetteville, PA, Leonard C. (wife Ruth) Dentler of Mont Alto, PA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 24 at 10:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Revs. Steven McCullough and Bradford Reaves officiating. Burial will be in the Browns Mill Cemetery Kauffman, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Good Shepherd Ministries 19763 Longmeadow Rd. Hagerstown, MD 21742.
