Harold L. Cash, age 83 of Ellicott City, Md. died Saturday evening July 7, 2007 in his home in Pasadena, Md. where he had been recently residing.
Born September 12, 1923 in Hagerstown, Md. he was the son of the late William L. and Clara Julia Cash.
He had retired from the U.S. Army in 1983 and had also been employed by the former Western Maryland Railroad. Mr. Cash was a World War II U.S Army veteran having served in the Central Pacific and Western Pacific theaters.
He was a former member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle. He and his wife Virginia Mae Cash were married November 30, 1949. She died on March 22, 2000.
Surviving family are:
Daughter, Jeri Lee Boggs, of Georgia, two sons, Jeffrey L. Cash of Georgia and Jay Cash of Westminister, Md.
One sister, Judy Hutzell of Hagerstown, Md.
Companion, Virginia Rigney of Ellicott City, Md.
Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a brother William J. Morgan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 11 at 12 noon from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. with Rev. Glen Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in the Shanks Church Of The Brethren Cemetery Greencastle with military graveside honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
