H. Leona Miller, age 87 of Malissa Dr. Greencastle, PA died at 4:00 A.M. Monday, September 24, 2012 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg, PA. She had been in declining health since entering the nursing home a month and a half ago.
Born November 1, 1924 in Lemasters, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Ethel Ellen (Tenley) Bricker. Leona had worked at the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg for 43 years. She attended Greencastle High School.
Leona was a member of the Greencastle Church of The Brethren and a life member of the Greencastle V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, traveling and being with her family and grandchildren.
Her husband, Harry J. "Buck" Miller died on June 17, 1982.
Surviving family are two daughters Carole M. (husband Rich) Reeder, Greencastle, Linda M. (husband Bob) Hoffman, Mercersburg, three sons, Ronald H. (wife Joanne) Miller, Topeka, Kansas, James L. (wife Suzanne) Miller, Douglassville, PA, Gregory L. (wife Linda) Miller, Greencastle, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Marshall Edgar Bricker in 2007 and a sister Louise G. Horst in 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 27 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Leon Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Greencastle Church of The Brethren 36 South Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA 17225 or to the Lilian S.
