Raymond Gregory Lee Overcash
Raymond Gregory Lee Overcash, age 65 of 54 West Walter Ave. Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly early Sunday morning March 11, 2012 in his home.
Born March 22, 1946 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond "Diz" and Florence Louella (College) Overcash.
He retired in April 2006 after 41 years service with Mack Truck of Hagerstown. Greg was a 1964 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War.
Greg was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on church council and on the property committee. He was serving as chairman on the Borough of Greencastle Zoning Hearing Board and had also served on the Jerome King Playground Board of Directors of Greencastle.
He was a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 of Greencastle. He participated in the Greencastle TOPS chapter and was a member of the Sports Inn of Greencastle.
He and his wife, Carolyn Rhuann "Connie" (Fisher) Overcash were married December 31, 1968 in Hagerstown.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are twin sons Brooke Kevin Overcash, Hagerstown and Brian Keith (wife Julie) Overcash, Greencastle, one brother Pastor Richard Overcash, Greencastle, sister, Roberta Miller, Fayetteville, PA, four grandchildren, Delani, Lance, Shaina, Lilah and mother-in-law Betty Lee Fisher, Greencastle.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 11:00 A.M. from the Evangelical Lutheran Church 130 N. Washington St. Greencastle with Rev. Martin Horn officiating. Burial with military honors by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Wednesday evening from 6- 8 and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Memorial Fund of the Evangelical Lutheran Church 130 N. Washington St. Greencastle, PA 17225.
