Glenn H. Stahl, age 89 a resident of The Village Of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA and formerly of 12591 Gearhart Rd., Greencastle, died at 1:55 A.M. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in the nursing home.
Born April 2, 1920 in St. Thomas Twp., PA, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Ruth (Gehr) Stahl.
Mr. Stahl was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church near Waynesboro. He was a former member of the Shady Grove Ruritan Club. Mr. Stahl attended the St. Thomas High School.
He and his wife, Isabelle N. (Lininger) Stahl were married April 18, 1942 in Hagerstown. She died on March 18, 2009.
Surviving family are one son, James H. Stahl, of Chambersburg; two daughters, Clara Ruth Hess, of Chiefland, FL and Betty Eshelman, of Greencastle; three brothers, Clarence Stahl, of Greencastle, David E. Stahl, of Chambersburg, and Donald Stahl, of Fayetteville; one sister, Mary Stahl, of Greencastle; Three Grandchildren, and Seven Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Stahl..
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 7, 2009 from the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle with Revs. James Sollenberger and David E. Stahl officiating. Burial will be in the Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M.
