Glenn E. Martin, age 71 of 2146 Rohrersville Rd. Knoxville, Md. died at 12:30 P.M. Sunday December 30, 2007 in his home.

Born January 27, 1936 in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Abner R. and Naomi E. (Diller) Martin.

He was a retired dairy farmer. He served as a minister in the Mennonite Church for 40 years and was ordained as a Bishop in the Church in 1971.

Mr. Martin was a member of the Yarrowsburg Mennonite Church and had served on the Mennonite Air Missions Board of Guatemala and on the Board of the Christian Light Publication in Harrisonburg Va.

He and his wife, Doris H. (Martin) Martin were married on February 21, 1956.

Surviving family in addition to his wife of 51 years are:

Three daughters, Cynthia A. Ulrich, Ghana Africa, Marie A. Allgyer, Pensacola Florida, Melisa M. Myers, Knoxville, Md.

Five sons, Nolan R. Martin, Ephrata, Pa., Vern L. Martin, Poteau, Oklahoma, Myron J. Martin, Knoxville, Md., Markel L. Martin and D. Roy Martin, both of Hanover, Pa.

Three Sisters, Anita Eby, Hagerstown, Md., Nadine Martin, Smithsburg, Md. and Hazel Martin, Mill Hall, Pa.

One brother, Roger I. Martin, Hagerstown, Md.

Fifty Six Grandchildren Eight great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a brother Lester Martin and by a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday morning January 4 at 10:00 A.M. at the Yarrowsburg Mennonite Church 2142 Rohrersville Rd. (Rt. 67) with ministers Duane Eby, Allen Myers, Urie Sharp and Arvin Martin officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1 - 4 P.M. and 6 - 8 P.M. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be given in his memory to the Mennonite Air Missions C/O Dolyn Eby 4538 Main St. Rohrersville, Md. 21779. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
