Gladys Mary (Myers) Sharon, age 80 of Royer Rd. Greencastle, PA died Saturday, November 7, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 18, 1935 in Nova, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Minor and Hellen (Rice) Myers. She married her husband Lewis Donald Lee Sharon on June 16, 1956 in Hagerstown, MD. He died on June 23, 2003.
She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Gladys enjoyed farm life and taking excellent care of her animals. She loved taking care and spending time with her family. Mrs. Sharon was a member of the Broadfording Bible Brethren Church near Hagerstown. She was an active church member serving most recently with the bereavement, shut- ins visitation and annual fruit basket ministries.
Surviving family are two daughters and sons-in-law John and Linda (Sharon) Burkett of Greencaste, Ed and Cindy (Sharon) Blair of Greencastle, one sister Ruth Mummart of Greencastle, grandchildren and spouses, Jamie and Dawn Burkett, Alan and Jennifer (Burkett) Fogle, Andy and Jessica (Burkett) Taylor, Brian and Amanda Blair, Brent and Amber Blair, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister Hazel Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 11 at 3:00 PM from the Broadfording Bible Brethren Church 13523 Broadfording Church Rd. Hagerstown with Rev. R. William Wyand officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Broadfording Bible Brethren Church Annual Fruit Basket Ministry for shut-ins.
