George A. Miller

George A. Miller, age 78 of South Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA died at 7:00 AM Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the emergency room of the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born February 17, 1935 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late George S. and Julia Virginia (Winters) Miller.
He married Joyce E. (Miller) Miller on July 5, 1963 in Hagerstown. George was an electrician having worked for the former J.B. Ferguson & Co. of Hagerstown and had last worked for Ellsworth Electric Co. also of Hagerstown.

He was an active member of the Trinity United Church of Christ of State Line where he served on the church consistory and various other church committees. He was also a member of the Greencastle Sportsman''s Association and the Mercersburg Sportsman Association. George was a 1953 graduate of Hagerstown High School and he had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.

Surviving family are one son G. Andrew "Andy" Miller and wife JoAnn of Waynesboro, two daughters Denise Potts and Nicole Kipe and husband Jeff, all of Waynesboro, two grandchildren, Dylan and Sara, two great-grandchildren Emma and Evan, three sisters Joan Semler of Sharpsburg, MD, Susan Hissong of Greencastle, Mary Jane Bush of Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Betty E. Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 27 at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Ed Higginbottom officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 - 8 PM.
