George Franklin Kennedy Jr., age 70 of 640 Leitersburg Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died at 2:50 P.M. Sunday June 29, 2008 in his home. He had been in declining health the past several weeks.
Born July 30, 1937 in Chambersburg, Pa. he was the son of the late George F. Sr. and Sadie B. (Helman) Kennedy.
He was employed as a lathe and machine operator at Jerr- Dan Co. of Greencastle for 24 years and had previously worked at Grove Worldwide Shady Grove for 10 years and at John Oliver Homes of Hagerstown, Md. as a finish carpenter.
Mr. Kennedy attended the Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle and was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association and a member of the Loyal Order Of The Moose of Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding ATVs with his grandchildren.
He and his wife, Rose A. (Jordan) Kennedy were married May 19, 1984 in Winchester, Va.

Two step-sons, Robert D. (husband of Shelly) Wolfinger and Ralph G. (husband of Michelle) Wolfinger, both of Greencastle, Pa.
Grandson whom he help raise, Kurtis A. Wolfinger of Greencastle, Pa.
Four adopted grandchildren, Natasha Wolfinger Kennedy, Kristopher Wolfinger Kennedy, Kayla Wolfinger Kennedy and Bret A. Wolfinger Kennedy, all of Greencastle, Pa.
One brother, Arthur G. (Husband of Patricia A. ) Kennedy, Hagerstown, Md.
One sister, Carrie L. Summers, Frederick, Md.
Seven Grandchildren, Robert Wolfinger III, Elizabeth Simmers, Shelly Simmers, Tyler and Josh Simmers, Bryan Wolfinger and Damian Wolfinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son George F. Kennedy III on June 7, 1984 and by a sister Ruth Mann.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 2 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. David G. Rawley officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
